A total of 103 samples from 15 individuals, including patients with systemic diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension, were analyzed using high-throughput sequencing of the V3-V4 regions of the 16S rRNA-encoding gene.This study found significant diversity in the microbiota between peri-implantitis and natural teeth.
