| 内容記述 | We used cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) to investigate the location of the impression material and its inflow into the pharynx during impression taking using the full mouth bite impression tray in order to confirm the safety of this technique. Two methods of impression taking were employed using a conventional tray and a prototype tray, both with alginate impression material and barium. CT images were acquired of 10 dentulous subjects with the tray in the oral cavity. The evaluation items were inflow of the impression material into the oropharynx, and the distance between the impression material and the oropharynx. No inflow of impression material into the oropharynx was noted with either method in any of the 10 subjects. The distance between the impression material and the oropharynx was shorter with the conventional method than with the bite impression method. We concluded that there was no inflow of impression material into the pharynx with the full mouth bite impression method. | |||||||||
