内容記述 | Previous reports indicate that correcting the rounding of digitally abutment teeth through a ridgeline reconstruction procedure enhances the fit of CAD/CAM crowns. However, the impact of this procedure on the crown fit improvement for digital abutment teeth acquired with scanners of different specifications remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the effect of the ridgeline reconstruction procedure on the fit improvement of CAD/CAM crowns made from digital abutment teeth acquired with two types of 3D optical scanners. Preformed artificial abutment teeth for jacket crowns were scanned with two types of 3D optical scanners, and a ridgeline reconstruction procedure was applied to the marginal region of the digital abutment tooth. CAD/CAM crowns were fabricated from the acquired digital abutment teeth and placed on the abutment teeth using a silicone fit test material. The internal gap between the abutment teeth and crown at the occlusal surface center, buccal and lingual shoulders, and the area corresponding to the cement space at the inner slope of the occlusal surface were then calculated from the thickness of the silicone specimens. Statistical analysis revealed that the ridgeline reconstruction procedure improved the fit of CAD/CAM crowns fabricated with optical scanners, irrespective of the 3D optical scanner type used. | |||||||||||
